Why has our cat suddenly changed it's sleeping habits ?

It sleeps in the most unusual places- bookcases and knocking books and ornaments off-top of tables and kitchen units etc It even sleeps in the fireplace and anywhere different from where it used to allways sleep-it is fifteen years old!
