On what date does the Winter Solstice occur in the Northern Hemisphere?

December 21 or 22. In 2007, it occurs on December 22 at 06:08 Coordinated Universal Time. The Gregorian calendar is basically geared towards keeping all of the solstices and equinoxes very close to the same time each year.
