Is it wrong to be promiscuous? And how do you tell a guy that you are?

See I'm promiscuous and it's only when i'm not in a relationship.With a friend with benefits. but when your in a relationship that you think might go some where how do you answer the question knowing what a guy might think, and how he might act.please i need advise. thanks
